Job Summary
The Commercial Fit out team within our Building & Places division is currently seeking a full-time Audio-Visual Consultant / Design Engineer. This role is to be based in at AECOM's European Head Quarters, Aldgate Tower, London.

You will design AV systems across a wide range of industry sectors including office fit out, mixed use, data centres and government organisations and you will act as a local expert for our teams of engineers and clients.

We are looking for someone who has a true understanding of AV design and processes, so your experience can vary from building consultancy, end user, systems integrator, manufacturer to installer.

About the team:
As AECOM's Intelligent Buildings team, we provide Audio Visual and Multimedia design and support services to complement and enhance the design activities of our Mechanical and Electrical Engineers. We are a growing team of experts with a variety of experience in what is considered a key growth market.

You will be joining a newly formed team of security and technology consultants that are growing their own business by supporting the larger divisions as well as bringing in new clients externally. You will be supported by this team but will also be expected to run on your own initiative and be accountable for your results over time.

Job responsibilities:
Your core duties will involve the design and consultation of AV systems as AECOM's internal solution. You will work closely with our Security and Technology Building consultants and when necessary act as additional resource on their projects. You will also work with our established sub-consultants who are experts in the field.
Over time you will be tasked with growing your own team but for now you will be our key expert charged with establishing yourself in our business and taking on our current pipeline of work. You will work on projects as they move from the initial RIBA stages to construction phase and split your time between client design and team meetings, site inspections, test result analysis, witness testing and of course design itself.

Your design work will include:

  • Satellite Farm and TV distribution design
  • Digital Signage
  • Room Booking systems
  • Meeting room and auditorium AV
  • Media walls
  • AV integration alongside BMS and IBMS intelligent buildings


Minimum Requirements
  • Proven experience designing and deploying AV systems within a commercial environment.
  • Understanding of Passive Structured Cabling and Active LAN networks.
  • This experience shall be gained during employment either as a consultancy, end user, systems integrator or manufacturer or installer.


Preferred Qualifications
  • A clear work history and proof of professional development and learning.
  • Ideally you will live locally to the office or be willing to relocate to London.
