About us
We are Allswell Care Services based in Sutton, Surrey. We are a small family-run residential care home, supporting 5 adults with learning difficulty and other complex needs. The people we support live in a homely, family-friendly home where they are assisted and encouraged to participate fully in the local community.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Health & Social Care at level 3 essential or working towards it
- Must have good IT skills
- Previous experience as a senior support worker with ability to manage and lead a shift essential
The Role as a Senior Support Worker
- Working 40 hours a week. Can arrange to work 4 days out of 7 days (shifts).
- Provide shift leading duties with a small team
- Assist in the provision of the highest possible standards with regard to quality of life and a homely environment, including support for those who represent a challenge to the service.
- Promote and participate in maintenance of a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for all residents; and a pleasant and receptive climate for the residents' relatives and friends.
- You would be required to ensure the smooth running of the services within the legal requirements of CQC and any commissioner requirements. You may also attend care/support planning meetings and liaise with health and social care professionals involved in service users’ care as well as supporting service users in the same way as other support staff across the full range of duties.
- Participate in, or suitably delegate responsibility for, residents’ observations, the delivery of care and/or prescribed treatment. Inform the appropriate person, e.g., Manager, of significant changes in the resident’s condition or other relevant significant factors.
- Ensure the legibility and accuracy of the residents records and assist in monitoring the effectiveness of the established communication/reporting system over the full 24 hours.
- Responsible for the administration, care and custody of medicines.
- Promote and practice the provision of an effective and efficient care service.
- Participate in achieving the highest domestic standards with respect to cleaning, hygiene and provision of meals for well balanced diets that meet the cultural and dietary needs of all residents.
- Assist the Manager in administering and managing residents’ finances, ensuring compliance with written procedures.
- Assist the Manager in controlling household expenditure, in line with the agreed household budgets.
- Support and assist the Manager in every possible way in the establishment of a good working atmosphere and in making the most effective and efficient use of staff.
