Job Description

We are seeking a RMN Qualified CQC Registered Manager, who will be reporting on the Clinical Governance of the service to one of the Partners of a Prestigious Private Health Care company in SW1.This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated and dedicated individual who is passionate about providing high quality standards of care in the private sector. We require someone who is driven and ambitious, and has a clear focus on establishing and growing the service.

This is a very important role and the selected person will form an integral part of our team, running the clinical department and ensuring that all aspects of managing the team, taking ownership of the department and the running of the day-to-day are of a high standard. Strong leadership, good communication, a solution-focused attitude and first class professional skills are key, as you will be dealing with self-funding patients and clients who expect high standards of care and presentation.

Job purpose: Registered Manager

Brevin is a small, CQC-registered, independent sector, community mental health service offering primarily psychiatric nursing treatment to patients with mental illness, working with patients’ existing private psychiatrists or GPs. The service can range from once per month to daily visits, from 1hr to Live-in care, depending on the level of need and wishes of the client, either to provide short- or long-term support to patients in the community, or to prevent admission to/ expedite discharge from psychiatric hospital. All cases are privately funded only.

Brevin also provides a ‘private residence’, exclusive service to private patients with mental health and addiction problems, offering a comprehensive, multidisciplinary service with psychiatry, nursing, therapeutic, nutritional and lifestyle interventions. Patients are treated in a variety of settings including at home (with or without live-in personnel), or as outpatients, under the care of a responsible clinician.

The Registered Manager will need to:

  • Comply with Regulation 7 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014: Requirements relating to registered managers, namely:
  • be of good character;
  • properly perform tasks that are intrinsic to their role;
  • have necessary qualifications, competence, skills, experience to manage regulated activity.
  • Uphold Brevin values/ principles (high quality, responsive, treating patients discreetly/ with integrity).
  • Robust governance, including: clinical effectiveness; service-user experience; service development and improvement; patient safety and safeguarding; risk management. Examples include: adherence to admission/ discharge processes; record keeping & data protection; clinical staff supervision and appraisal; HR compliance and training; nursing rotas adhering to EWTD; policies & procedures are up to date, read and signed by staff; equipment checks; clinical audits; quality assurance.
  • Part of On-call rota when Brevin has a patient treated out-of-hours e.g. Live-In services or w/end visits.
  • Daily morning debriefs, weekly rota planning meeting, professionals’ meetings and progress reviews.
  • Monthly Clinical and Governance Meetings with Nominated Individual, and Operational & Office meetings with office team.
  • Recruitment and retention of Healthcare Professionals.
  • Field visits and supporting clinicians/ supervising nurses in the various jobs.

The post is supported by an Office Manager, and the Nominated Individual.
