A highly reputable marketing body in the media space is looking for a Communications Manager to join their team and revolutionise their brand.

Reporting to the Head of Communications, the Communications Manager will support in planning and executing all of the body’s PR and communications. We’re looking for a confident writer who is social media savvy and ideally has a keen interest in the media industry.

Responsibilities

  • Write and edit copy, including for the website, press releases, event programmes, marketing emails and a weekly industry newsletter
  • Distribute press releases and build strong relationships with the industry trade press
  • Place op-eds with the trade press
  • Manage social media channels, including Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn
  • Maintain close, ongoing contact with the body’s stakeholders
  • Identify speaker opportunities for the organisation and implement event partnerships  
  • Produce a monthly internal PR report and communicate PR messages internally
  • Monitor industry press and respond to inaccurate reporting relating to newsbrands
  • Ensure the organisation maintains a consistent tone of voice across all output
  • Attend and report on industry events
  • Respond to press enquiries
  • Maintain a PR contacts database

Requirements

  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Three to five years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A good interest in the media industry and passion for newspapers and journalism
  • Experience of using a CMS (e.g WordPress) is preferable but not essential
  • Confident working independently, as well as part of a small team
